Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Alabama
The Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Alabama would like to thank the following Foundations for their partnership in our 2020 Early Childhood education project along with our Project Learn Program to help us with the virtual Children that we serviced at the club for the 2019-2020 school year. We serviced not only Thomasville City School children but also F.S. Irvin in PineHill, Alabama. Without our foundations these program would not be possible to have at our club.
The following Foundations that have awarded us these grants are truly a blessing to our children, parents, and club. A portion of the $10,000.00 that we received from International paper $2,000 was used towards our early childhood program where we were able to purchase the Owl Street Curriculum for them, this is the same curriculum that the Mobile County School system uses. The other $8,400 was used to purchase the Lialo Reading program, the workbooks that go with and all of the addition supplies needed.
This grant from International Paper was such a great help to our virtual children, Summer Enrichment Program and is still being used for our 2021-2022 School with the Lialo Reading program. This program tracks where the weak in reading from phonics to fluency reading. I am able to also see their progress as they complete each step in the program. Reading and Math is still a struggle with the children this school year even as they have returned to the in person classroom. Without International Paper and other foundations these program would not be possible to have at our club.
We are still striving to help these children reach their fullest potential in their class.
Thank you to the International Paper and all of the other foundations for you generous grants to the club. and International Paper.
